Important to know the following information:

  • It is important to know your flight arrival time for the transport wait at the airport and the guide showing their name or pick-up time from your hotel in Puno.
  • Altitude Sickness: Altitude sickness or "soroche": this discomfort occurs due to a lack of oxygen. Since Puno or Lake Titicaca is at more than 3,800 m.a.s.l. and (12,500ft). If you have not acclimated previously in Cusco or other places before your visit to Puno, there is a chance of experiencing mild altitude sickness upon arrival and during your first days in Puno.
  • To prevent altitude sickness, you can take the famous “soroche pill”.
