All the necessary information for a safe and smooth trip to Peru.
To enter Peru, requirements vary by nationality:
Minors: Need a Travel Authorization to leave Peru. If one parent is abroad, they should go to a Peruvian consulate to sign the authorization. You can request this authorization by email at pasaportes@consuladodelperu.org.co.
Tourist visa: If you require a visa to enter Peru, you must apply for it at the Peruvian consular offices in your country. Citizens of some Latin American and European countries do not need a tourist visa.
Conditions: The tourist visa does not allow immigration, permanent residency, or paid activities. The visa application and submitted documentation do not guarantee automatic approval. Each application is evaluated individually by the consul and may require additional requirements during the process. If your application is denied, you can submit a new application after 6 months. Visa denial is final and non-appealable.
Citizens of Mercosur countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay) do not need a visa or passport to enter Peru as tourists. The allowed stay is up to 90 days, extendable according to the bilateral agreement.
For other nationalities, you may need to apply for a tourist visa. Check with the nearest Peruvian embassy for more details.
It is no longer mandatory to present a COVID-19 vaccination certificate to enter Peru. Make sure to comply with all updated health regulations to avoid inconveniences.
Peru is generally a safe country for tourists, but it is important to take precautions. Avoid isolated areas at night and keep your belongings secure at all times. In case of emergency, contact the Tourist Police.
