OVERVIEW
On one of the peninsula of the Holy Lake Titicaca, lives a population characterized by the daily practice of activities such as agriculture, livestock and fishing.
Luquina community, located on Chucuito peninsula, is a place that mixture the beauty of nature with the experience of great cultural expressions, offering the opportunity to live a unique experience by participating in the daily activities of the population.
You will also be able to enjoy a beautiful landscape that allows you to feel a sense of connection with nature that will make you feel relaxed. In addition, you will taste the delicious gastronomy of the place.
UROS - TAQUILE - LUQUINA TOUR 2D - 1N.
DAY 1: UROS - TAQUILE - LUQUINA
Discover the authentic Aymara town of Luquina by living a day of experiential tourism in this beautiful community.
Starting at 7:00 a.m., our team will pick up our passengers from their hotels (located in the Puno center city) to transfer them to the city port and board a boat. The boat will leave at 7:30 a.m., heading to the floating islands of the Uros to visit two of them. Upon arrival at the islands, the guide will give an explanation about the origin and culture of the Uros, as well as their way of life around the use of reeds.
Later we will go to Taquile Island, a place that still preserves the most ancestral traditions of its people, and that are proud of their characteristic textile art, possessing such cultural value that led it to be recognized as "Cultural Heritage of Humanity” by UNESCO. In this place, we will enjoy a delicious lunch in a typical restaurant of the island.
At 2:00 p.m., we will embark towards Luquina, receiving a welcome from the families, who will take us to the lodging house where we will spend the night.
DAY 2: LUQUINA - UROS
After having an exquisite dish for breakfast in our house-lodge, we will be able to participate in the daily activities that the inhabitants carry out (agriculture, fishing, etc.), and which will allow them to experience direct contact with nature.
At 12:00 m., you will taste a typical delicious food and, later, return to the city of Puno, where we will arrive at approximately 4:00 p.m.
We also have optional activities that you can do, such as: hiking, kayaking or biking. (These activities have an additional cost and must be requested in advance to organize it).
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THIS TOUR?:
- Advice one day before the tour.
- Lunch: Grilled trout or Omelet + Quinoa soup + coca or muña tea.
- Accommodation in Luquina + Food: 2 lunch, 1 dinner y 1 Breakfast (preparing with local products).
- Entrances fees to floating islands / Taquile island and Luquina chico.
- Official guide Spanish / English.
- Speed boat (with toilet facilities on board, comfortable seats, life jackets and first aid kit).
- Transfers hotel downtown Puno- port of the Lake Titicaca.
