DAY 1: Arrival in Puno – Welcome and Acclimatization in the Capital of Folklore
Puno, known as the Folklore Capital of Peru, welcomes you to enjoy a unique cultural experience in the heart of the Andean Altiplano. Upon arrival at the Juliaca Airport or the bus station, our staff will be waiting to provide a warm welcome and transfer you comfortably to your hotel in Puno. The rest of the day is free to rest and acclimatize to the altitude, preparing you to begin this wonderful tourist experience in Puno.
DAY 2: Adventure on Lake Titicaca – Uros Floating Islands and Taquile Island
Early in the morning, we will begin an unforgettable excursion on Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. Our first stop will be the Uros Floating Islands, where you will learn about the ancestral lifestyle, as well as the traditions and customs preserved by its inhabitants for generations.
We will then continue sailing to Taquile Island, a place rich in history, living culture, and breathtaking landscapes. After a walk to the village, you will have free time to admire the famous handwoven textiles, recognized by UNESCO. Later, you will enjoy a traditional Andean lunch prepared with local products and attend a cultural presentation organized by Taquile families. Return to Puno in the afternoon.
DAY 3: Tradition and Devotion – Virgin of Candelaria Festival
This day is dedicated to experiencing one of the most important celebrations in Peru: the Virgin of Candelaria Festival, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Puno Stadium, where the famous traditional dance competition takes place.
Throughout the day, you will enjoy spectacular performances of traditional dances such as the Diablada Puneña, Morenada, Caporales, Sikuris, Tuntuna, and many others, performed by thousands of dancers accompanied by live musical bands. A vibrant experience full of color, music, faith, and cultural tradition, reflecting the identity of the people of Puno. Return to the hotel in Puno and overnight stay.
DAY 4: History and Archaeology of the Altiplano – Chucuito and Sillustani – Departure
After breakfast, we will depart to Chucuito, a historic town known as the City of the Royal Treasury. We will visit the Inca Uyo Fertility Temple, famous for its ceremonial stone sculptures, as well as the main square, where the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and the Church of Santo Domingo stand out as fine examples of colonial architecture. Afterwards, we will return to Puno, where you will have free time for lunch.
In the afternoon, we will continue to the Sillustani Archaeological Complex, one of the most important sites in the Peruvian Altiplano, renowned for its impressive pre-Inca chullpas located on the shores of Lake Umayo, surrounded by a stunning natural landscape. After the visit, transfer to the Juliaca Airport or bus station, marking the end of an unforgettable tourist experience in Puno, full of culture, tradition, and unique landscapes.
