ITINERARY
Chimu Floating Islands Tour – Half Day
The tour begins with a personalized pickup from your hotel in Puno and transfer to the main port, where we will board an exclusive boat bound for the Chimu Floating Islands.
After a 30-minute navigation across Lake Titicaca, we will arrive at the island and be welcomed by the residents, who will share their daily way of life, the ancestral art of weaving, and the sustainable use of totora reeds, a plant they use to build islands, homes, and boats.
During the visit, the islanders will also demonstrate how their craftsmanship has evolved from traditional kesanas to decorative and utilitarian pieces of great cultural value.
Travelers will enjoy authentic experiences such as:
- Participating in mini workshops on traditional weaving.
- Taking a ride on a totora reed boat.
- Observing the art of traditional fishing with nets.
- Admiring the diverse birdlife and fish species of Lake Titicaca.
After this authentic experience, we return to Puno, arriving around 1:00 PM.
