During the tour, you will visit iconic temples such as the San Pedro Mártir Church, recognized for its Baroque style and paintings from the Spanish, Cusco, and Italian schools; the San Juan de Letrán Church, notable for its churrigueresque facade; and the Nuestra Señora de la Asunción Church, distinguished by its Renaissance facade and a tower adorned with both European and native elements.
This tour allows you to explore the history, art, and spirituality that define Juli, making it an ideal experience for those seeking cultural and religious insight in a traditional Altiplano setting.
ITINERARY
This day is designed to offer an authentic experience of the colonial era in the Altiplano. Guests will be picked up from their hotels to begin the tour heading towards Chucuito, the first stop. There, we will visit the ceremonial complex Inca Uyo, a sacred site dedicated to fertility, known for its phallic-shaped stone carvings.
Next, we will head to the portal of Aramu Muru, also known as "Hayu Marca," which means "Town of the Spirits." This mystical site stands out for its rock formations and its carved portal, considered an interdimensional gate. It is renowned for its positive energies, ideal for spiritual rituals and connecting with nature.
Finally, we will visit Juli, the "Little Rome of America," to explore its significant colonial heritage reflected in its most notable churches: San Juan de Letrán, the Temple Museum of Our Lady of the Assumption, and the Church of San Pedro Mártir. The guide will provide explanations about the history, architecture, and cultural value of these locations.
At the end of the day, we will return to the city of Puno, concluding a day full of culture, history, and spirituality.
