ITINERARY
We will begin this kayak tour experience with hotel pickup in the city of Puno. From there, we’ll take you to the starting point, where you will receive a complete briefing on safety, paddling techniques, and the use of equipment, ensuring a safe and unforgettable journey on Lake Titicaca.
Our adventure starts as we paddle towards the Uros Floating Islands. Along the way, we will navigate through vast totora reed beds, an ecosystem that is home to a diverse array of birds, including ducks, grebes, and the elusive seven-colored tanager. This immersion in nature leads us to the arrival at the floating islands.
Upon arrival, the Uros family will greet us with their traditional welcome, “KAMISARAKI” (“How are you?”), to which you may respond “WALIKI” (“I’m fine”). Here you will learn about their way of life, traditions, and the use of the totora plant, in a close and authentic cultural experience.
To conclude, you will sail aboard a traditional totora reed boat before returning to the city of Puno, completing this truly unique experience.
