OVERVIEW
Take part in this unique kayaking adventure on the world’s highest navigable lake “TITICACA”, connecting with nature and the live culture of uros community; they are considered as the first civilization of the highlands, a native community that still use the reeds plant to build unique artificial islands in the world.
TOUR KAYAK TO UROS
The kayaking experience will begin picking you up from your hotel in Puno city, in order to go to the starting point in kayak; before starting the tour, our tour guide will provide you kayaking instructions on safety, use, handling techniques and kayak equipment.
Then, we will start the great adventure in kayak towards to the Uros floating islands, during the tour we will navigate in the middle of the reeds (totora) where we will be able to observe the great variety of birds, such as: ducks, grebes, the elusive many-colored rush tyrant, etc.
Upon arrival we will be warmly received by the Uros families, always with the greeting "KAMISARAKI" that means how are you? and you can answer "WALIKI" (I'm fine). the family will share with us their lifestyle, traditions and uses of the reeds; leting us to involve with our senses.
Finally we will have the experience to take a ride on the traditional reed raft and then return to Puno city.
