Lampa is located 73 km from Puno, also called the "Pink City" or "the city of 7 wonders", named like this because there are different interesting places such as: the "Santiago Apóstol" temple that houses a peculiar ossuary surrounded by human skeletal remains, and  the upper of this houses the famous replic of the sculpture by Michelangelo "Pietà", also in the temple there are sub-terranean channels.

In the city there are also old vestiges of the colonial era such as the "Casa de la Oca" where there is a life-size structure of the old Spanish game of the Goose, the Municipal Museum whose interior houses the first replica of "Pietà" and historical elements like the old map of Peru. On the outskirts of the city there is also a Chinchillas breeding house, herbivorous rodents with extremely soft and expensive fur.

The archaeological complex of Sillustani is one of the most important necropolises in the highlands of Puno, located on the peninsula of Umayo lagoon, the eternal resting place of the kolla and Inca nobles.
