DAY 1: Welcome to the Andean Altiplano – Sillustani and Arrival in Puno
From the very beginning, you will start a unique journey in the Andean Altiplano. Upon arrival at the Inca Manco Cápac International Airport in Juliaca, our guide will greet you and escort you on a comfortable transfer to the Sillustani Archaeological Complex, one of the most impressive sites in the region. Here, you will discover the mysterious pre-Inca and Inca funerary chullpas, surrounded by the vast landscapes of the Altiplano and the peaceful scenery of Lake Umayo, an environment that conveys serenity, energy, and a deep connection to ancient history. After the visit, we will continue to your hotel in Puno for rest and acclimatization.
DAY 2: Ancestral Cultures of Lake Titicaca – Uros and Amantaní
After breakfast, we will head to the port of Lake Titicaca to begin navigation on the highest navigable lake in the world. Our first stop will be the Uros Floating Islands, where you will learn about the ancestral lifestyle of its inhabitants and their traditions built on totora reeds. We will then continue to Amantaní Island, where local host families will welcome you into their homes, offering an authentic cultural experience. Enjoy a traditional Andean lunch, walks around the island, and unforgettable views of Lake Titicaca. Dinner and overnight stay on Amantaní.
DAY 3: Living Traditions of Titicaca – Amantaní and Taquile
After breakfast, we will continue our journey across Lake Titicaca to Taquile Island, renowned for its community organization and its traditional textiles, recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. During the visit, you will walk along scenic paths with panoramic views, learn about local customs, and have time to purchase Andean handicrafts. After a traditional lunch, we will return to the city of Puno for rest at the hotel.
DAY 4: Faith, Color, and Devotion – Virgin of Candelaria Parade
This day features one of the highlights of the journey: the Virgin of Candelaria Festival, the most important cultural and religious celebration in Puno and one of the most significant in Peru, recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Accompanied by our guide, you will attend the traditional Virgin of Candelaria parade, where thousands of dancers and musical bands fill the streets with color, rhythm, and devotion, showcasing the vibrant cultural identity of Puno.
DAY 5: Farewell to Lake Titicaca – Departure Transfer
At the scheduled time, transfer from your hotel in Puno to the Juliaca Airport or bus station, concluding an unforgettable travel experience in Puno, enriched by Andean culture, tradition, and the unique landscapes of Lake Titicaca.
